Catching Up!

I haven't updated since our wonderful day outside that turned out not so wonderful. While the boys enjoyed the great outdoors the breeze took a toll on their little face so for the last few days they have had a bad case of wind burn. You would have never of guessed because the redness didn't show till about an hour later after they had been inside taking a nap. I nearly lost it because I panicked something was terribly wrong. Luckily they never ran a fever and no vomiting occurred so we were in the clear besides applying lotion and vitamin e. They look much better now. Jason's is pretty much all cleared up and by mid week I think Reece's will be too. Poor babies, bad mommy. Everyone I tell the story to says ohh its ok when my kids were little...and then tells me their awful mother story.

I haven't updated since last Tuesday...on Wednesday Ryan's brother came home and was in town so on Wed. night Trevor and Derinda, Ryans mom, all came over for dinner. Thursday is a blur and I don't remember what we did? On Friday Katherine and Nolan came over and brought the boys Mason and Nolans old baby toys. The boys love love love the new "jungle gym" and now have a wide variety of car seat and stroller toys to entertain them with! Afterwards Aunt LaLa ended up coming over and later my Mom. After sitting around talking my Mom and I walked over to her house with the boys and needless to say with my sister in town and Ryan working on Saturday we spent the weekend at my parents. Literally Friday and Saturday night we slept there and everything and came back to our house this morning. It's like a get away for me to have so many extra hands and my mom, dad and sister like having the boys around too. We watched movies both nights and relaxed for the most part!

Today we were suppose to attend Clear Lake Regional NICU Reunion Carnival but I decided against it. Ryan didn't get out of bed till about 11 this morning, I had been up off and on since about 3 am with Reece and it started at one. Not to mention it was a very sunny and windy day and my little munchkins faces didn't need anymore burn to that fresh skin. So for today we stayed home and Ryan invited his Mom over for her 46th birthday. With her was her mother and Trevor. I made a big late lunch for us all and we spent the afternoon holding babies and loving on the boys. Granny Jean hadn't seen the boys in a while and she came over with her granny brag book of pictures of the boys that her friend Helen had printed off for her. It was rather cute. Ryan and Trevor are still spending some brotherly time together at the house watching football and the boys are sleeping after a short walk from our house to my parents.

Now its time to head back to the house and get ready for another week. The boys have their 4 month old checkup this week and then on Saturday my Mom is having a garage sale. We aren't sure what are plans are yet for Halloween...we talked about possibly going over to see Grandma Judi and PawPaw Tom sometime this weekend and Ryan suggested Saturday so he could scare the Trick-Or-Treaters. I don't the kid in him is ever going to grow up! Hope everyone has a great week! Here are a few pictures of Ryan's family from Wed. & today.

Remeber my old blog?

Do you remember my old blog at babycrowd.com? Well I came across this really cool publishing service that will publish blogspot.com blogs. I think it would be so awesome to be able to print off my entire blog from start to finish during my pregnancy. My idea is to back track and take all of my old postings from babycrowd, copy and paste them as separate entries to blogspot. I learned today I can post something today and change the date so its as though I posted it in the past. Oh yes, I am going to do it in my free time.

In the mean time if you want a little laugh here is my old blog site

They love it!!!

Ok so today has been so great. I know I already posted earlier but that was at 11:30 and guess what? Its 3:30 and we are still outside. We have been moving around from the pillow, boppy, baby gym, bumbo seat and switching from back, side and of course their least favorite tummy! I had to post again because I have so darling pictures that I have to share! Oh and today is the first day that theyhave actually acknowledged the toys on the baby gym. Jason has figured out that kicking them makes them moves and loves it. I have also seen him reaching and grabbing onto the objects when fully alert which is a milestone! We are def. going to need a second baby gym before long.

A Little R&R Outside

Yesterday before my cousin Kim left with her two kiddos we enjoyed a little outside time in the front yard. I put down a comforter and pillows for the boys and we all sat outside for a while enjoying the beautiful weather we have had the past few days. The boys and I enjoyed it so much that we are doing the same thing now. This morning I got up at 5:30 with Reece and then Jason at 6:30 and typically we would go back to sleep after Ryan leaves but this morning we didn’t. I got a few things done around my house and then headed to Moms to clean up here like I try to do weekly. Needless to say I knew the boys would go back to sleep which would buy me some time to get things done and it worked. Now at 11:30 the house is cleaned (minus the ironing which can wait) and we are in the backyard enjoying another beautiful sunshine day. The boys are getting their rest and Momma is getting her relaxation! What could be better than that?

Here are pictures from yesterday (the adorable Nike outfits from Aunt Lala. I love em!)

...and here are some pictures from today (i take pictures EVERY day!)

Boo-tiful Fun

So today through the KAMOM group I joined I learned about an open house benefit supporting breast cancer. A lady in Atascocita had decorated every room in her house with a different theme for the Halloween holidays...she apparently decorates for every holiday like this. This year somebody suggested to her to raise money in honor of her friend who has been breast cancer free for two years now with all proceeds benefiting Susan G. Komen Foundation. What a great cause! The house wasn't a "haunted house" it was more "cutsie" as opposed to haunted. It was a great outing for myself and the boys. Reece was wide awake checking things out. He is so much more alert now!

E-I-E-I-Ohhhh

My cousins kids are in town so we took the 3 1/2 year old, 18 month old and the twins to Old McDonalds Farm. Obviously J & R are a little bit young for the farm but they loved being outside enjoying the beautiful weather! Here are a few pictures from old McD's Farm!

Stupid Blog!

Ok so I don't know why but if I look at my blog from my computer it looks perfect just the way I want it to...but from others the background image is cut off. If it looks like the right way to anyone else please let me know because I have yet to have found another computer besides my own that works! Gesh I don't know whats wrong with it!!!

Beautiful Weekend!!!

I woke up this morning at 4:30am and started our normal routine…double up and feed both boys, burp, diapers, take boys downstairs and put one in the bouncer and one in the swing…then made Ryan’s lunch and breakfast and cleaned up the kitchen and got him up at 6. Usually he gets up at 6:30 and I drag him out of bed and send breakfast with him to go. This morning I was feeling up rather up beat and was ready to get things going so he finally got out of bed about a quarter after and I know this sounds lame but for about 5 minutes we sat on the couch and he just held me. It was so nice because he wasn’t in a rush to get out the door, the boys were sound asleep and I just had a feeling it was going to be a good day.

After he left the boys and I went back to bed together which is always my favorite part of the morning. I just love snuggling up to them and usually its Jason because he sleeps in his big boy bed most nights unlike Reece who I get to hold and love on in our room all the time. Around 9 we were all back up to do the feed, burp, diaper routine again and then I showered and while I did I opened a window and put the boys in their bouncers in front of it. They were so content just listening to the wind blow, having the sunshine beam in and listening to the bird chirp. T was really rather relaxing and they stayed there while I got dressed and dried my hair.

I laughed because last night the boys had been in a bit of a fuss and yesterday was a pretty fussy day. Long story short I made a comment to Ryan saying you know we have really good babies and he disagreed saying they cry all the time and if they are good he don’t want any more! Ha I thought it was funny. They really and truly are good babies. Like all babies they have their days and in the beginning it was hard for me to adjust but now I have learned that a little bit of crying goes long way and sometimes they just need to let it out! For the first time ever the other night I let Jason cry himself to sleep. He had plenty to eat, his diaper was clean and couldn’t possibly have a care in the world but no matter what we did he just wanted to cry. I eventually said enough was enough and took him to his crib and closed the door behind me as I left the room. I of course had the monitor on in our room in case he started making other noises but after about 25 minutes he was sound asleep. Reece on the other hand I don’t let do that. A little bit of a fuss for him turns into a big spit up and that’s no good.

We have pretty big weekend plans this weekend. I am already loving the weather but not my attire so much. When all else feels get out last years fall clothes! The only cath there is they are maternity but I was only a few months along when it got cool in Tyler. You can hardly tell they are maternity shirts but I do like them because they are long enough to hide what I still have left of my belly. I am finally able to suck in and smile I use to not be able to suck that blubber in. Little by little its fading…back to the weekend plans. My cousin Kim, is on her way to town now and should be here in about an hour and half from Austin. She hasn’t yet seen the boys and with the weather so pretty my Mom, sister, aunt and I are going to take her two kids and mine to Old McDonalds Farm tomorrow. Obviously J & R won’t be petting the animals by they LOVE being outside and as of lately they haven’t spent much time in the great outdoors due to the muggy weather and blood sucking mosquitoes. They will enjoy the stroller ride and I’ll take the strap on baby carrier too in case they want a little piggy back ride. I am really excited about it!
I think that is all for now. I should have some really great pictures of all the kids come Sunday. I hope the pretty weather sticks around!!!

Layout Change

Ok so the blog has been a little messy the last 24 hours or so but I thought it was time to change from the pregnancy theme to something a little bit more up with the times since my little angels are nearly 4 months old.

Today has been another busy but good day. I went to the dentist this morning and Mom kept the boys. I was only gone about an hour and when I got home we decided to go to lunch and run a few errands before I went to the doctor today at 2. Getting out of the house with them is always an adventure but once again they were very well behaved and such wonderful babies! Mom went with me to the doctor since I had a good dose of drugs this morning at the dentists office and before heading to the OB. I had an IUD inserted (fun fun) so I am now baby/pregnancy free for 5 years! What a blessing because I don't know what I would do if I had another one on the way any sooner haha...everyone always asks if I will have another and at first I said no very firmly, but now I am thinking once I am older and depending on how life plays out I would like to try just once more to get my little princess, Avery Grace! I just have to have at least one girl to make rotten and deck out in bows and pink. Plus I want to be able to take her to Delta Gamma Mother/Daughter Teas and do all the fun girly stuff you just can't do with little boys. However for the next several years I am looking forward to dirt, bugs, trucks and sports. Little boys can be so much fun too and I am sure mine will be TWICE the fun!

I think I am done editing the layout till next time. I really like the black and white and am glad that I can use the beautiful pictures Carrie took for our family.Once again another blessing.

New Email

Hello everyone. Just a little FYI my old email ajayw86@aol.com is getting loaded up on spam so I made the change to gmail. My new email is amandajw86@gmail.com

Thank you all for the sweet comments regarding the pictures of the boys. Today they have been been pretty good. My Aunt Laurie was here for a while holding while I took care of some online stuff and yesterday they spent a few hours with their Nana and one of her friends at the house. The rest of the week seems a little fuzzy. Tomorrow Mom is helping me out while I go to the dentist and a doctors appointment and then on Friday my cousin and her kiddos will be in town and my sister too for the weekend! Busy busy busy!

I scheduled the boys 4 month old check up for the end of this month! I cannot believe they are getting so big. They are taking their first road trip with me to Tyler the weekend prior to my birthday and luckily my Mom is going to go too. I have so many friends there who I want to see and who also want to meet the boys so it works out perfect to go for Delta Gamma's initiation weekend. I am a little worried about how they will do in the car, but hope that if we leave early enough Saturday it will be during their normal sleep time. My 4 hour trip might easily take a little longer but they are usually good car riders as long as somebody is there to help me catch the spit up. Thank goodness for Mom going with me! It is going to be such a treat for me to get to see old friends especially considering when I left Tyler Easter weekend last year I had every intention of returning...darn that bed rest!

The Holidays

So for the last few weeks in my spare time I seem to keep reverting back to “what are we going to do about the holidays this year” in the back of my mind. Of course like most things I started stressing. This obviously will be the first year that I have had to worry about accommodating someone else’s family on top of my own. So after talking it over with Ryan here is the plan…

Thanksgiving: Ryan’s birthday this year falls on Thanksgiving so I told him that we could spend Thanksgiving Day this year with his family. Figure around noon or lunch time we will go to either Grandma Judi’s or his moms and then flip flop for the evening. Not really sure yet how he wants to work that our but I told him since it’s his family the ball is in his court as to how we spend the afternoon and who with etc. so that away it doesn’t fall back on me. As for my family we are going to do our thanksgiving with Mom & Dad on Friday (the day after Thanksgiving). There’s no possible way to accommodate Ryan’s Dads side, Moms side and then my family too. Then next year we will flip flop and do Thanksgiving Day with my family and catch his family either the day before or after etc.

Christmas: Luckily Christmas can easily be slip into two days no problem unlike Thanksgiving. It’s been tradition for a long time now with my family that we do Christmas gifts and celebrating on Christmas Eve. I already know Ryan’s Dads side of the family is going to be at Grandma Judi’s Christmas Day so the 24th is Christmas with my side of the family and the 25th will be time with his side of the family with Christmas morning being “family time” for just the boys and Ryan and I.

Halloween, Easter, St. Patrick’s and whatever else is out there isn’t usually such a big deal, but these two I knew I would have to think out ahead of time. We shall see how well it goes. It should be pretty smooth sailing and keep us from running all over the place with two 6 month old babies.
