Boys are made of all things dirty...here's the proof!

Today was one of those days...without going into too much detail let's just say it wasn't the best but it did end nicely. The boys and I played for the longest time outside this afternoon in the backyard. The swingset is still exciting to them but we have one little problem. They have a hard time getting up and down all the levels because the ladders are a little big. They will have to grow into it and practice! Reece loves to swing in my lap and Jason just likes all the sand on the ground. Go figure. He was covered in dirt from head to toe! For dinner they ate 3 spinach and cheese scrablmed eggs and chowed down on some toast and taters. After dinner we went on a walk and then came in for baths. I was going to clean the kitchen while they watch the Backyardigans but Jason took my hand going "ugh ugh ugh" (that's Jason for he wants something) and lead me into the livingroom a patted the couch. Reece went upstairs and came back with two blankets and a teddy bear so the three of us snuggled up and ended the night with some Backyardigans. So sweet...

Many Memories To Be Made...

When Ryan dropped the boys off today they started looking for Papa since his truck was here. I had Mom and Dad ready for the camera in the backyard because something told me they would spot the swing set before we were done unpacking all of their stuff from Ryan's car. And of course they found it! I pretty much missed the reaction of seeing it so thank goodness for modern day technology!

The boys tired out quickly since they got in close to bed time but something tells me that they will be playing in here for a while to come. We are going to put a baby safety gate up on the entrance of the rockwall before somebody flips out! I just pray they don't hurt themselves, but I think if we keep a close eye on them and they get plenty of practice then we should be in good shape! Pictures to come...I must get to bed...early morning!

Tick Tock Race the Clock!

Tick tock tick tock....Mom and Dad worked on the swing set Saturday from 9:30am-8:45pm. This is where they were when I went inside to clean house around 7:30pm...

Today they were back at it a little after 9:00am and just barely got finished before the boys got home. Had it not of been for Ryan running a little late it would have been incomplete! Needless to say the finish product looks amazing...now all it is missing is two sweet little monkeys to crawl around on it!

We are still at it!

Something tells me my flood lights will be one while we work all hours of the night! Or should I say....while Mom & Dad work all hours of the night!

Swing Set Progress...

The boys are off with Ryan this weekend and the swing set boxes that have been sitting in the garage all week are from one end of my backyard to the others. Dad has been at it since 9:30 this morning with Mom handing him screws and instructions upon his request. I helped with sorting but for the most part sprayed for ants this mroning and have been working on lesson plans.

This thing is massive! It came in 4 boxes and holly cow there's more screws and 4x4's in these boxes than the Lowes warehouse stores!

Here is our progress so far...

Little Moments

I love my sweet boys so very much. Yes, they drive me bonkers sometimes, but wow I cannot even imagine my life without them. Tonight the boys had a late nap so they weren't ready for their normal bedtime and even if they were they wouldn't even think about getting in their bed! One of our neighbors was playing guitar with their amp on full blast (or so it seemed). You could hear the music inside our house and Jason I think associated it with thunder which REALLY freaks him out. Poor baby! So we went downstairs and did the car puzzle, watched The Backyardigans and cuddled up on the couch. After the toothbrush song on Nick JR. we decided to go brush our own teeth and read Goodnight Moon. Then they got their blankets and crawled back into my lap. I rocked them both and sang songs (which is not a normal things I do- I can count all the times I have rocked...I swear its why my boys have been such good sleepers...rocking=dependent sleepers....no rocking=independent sleepers) Anyway it was really sweet, but they are getting so big that there is hardly enough room for them both in my lap in the chair! After singing every kid song I knew and several made up ones I asked them if they were ready to get in their bed. Without a fuss they jumped out of my lap with their blankets, gave me kisses and walked over to their beds. I picked them up and they both curled up with their little blankets and went to sleep. So sweet :)

Here are a few videos I wanted to share that I didn't put up on the blog because it was during my non-blogging phase.

Working on loading all the photos to photoalbums to snapfish from 12 months on since I haven't done that! Shame on me!

Not cut out for potty training...

OK this video has taken me forever to upload so I could post it...this afternoon J kept grabbing his diaper indicating something to do with either going potty or he went potty. Long story short I got it all on tape. I'll warn you I tried to cover little boy parts so if you are offended I'm sorry- don't watch but if you need a good laugh you might watch. Just another funny memory in the Williams household. Oh and my question at the end was serious. I know big boys don't but wasn't sure to do with little boys...haha learning process for us all I guess?

I am not posting the direct link because his little man junk is shown in the preview...oh well.

Here is the link for this clip. You will have to copy and paste it.

Acrobat Babies

So a few weeks ago Reece started doing rolls and "headstands" on my bed. He has "perfected" his skill and Jason has started catching on. Here is a video of them tonight at my parents house...I was thinking maybe gymnastics this summer for other kid interaction but the class is from 6:30-7:30 which is after our bed time. Oh well.

22 1/2 months...

We are nearly 23 months old which means we are quickly approaching our second birthday. Where has the time gone? I wish I could tell you. It seems like the blink of an eye the boys have gone form teeny tiny babies to big boys overnight.

I must say that this age and stage has been my favorite even though it comes with some tough times! I This last week we made a trip to the zoo where we feed giraffes and saw lots of animals. On Saturday we went to Old McDonalds Farm. We last went back in October before things really started to change in our household and wow how much more fun it was this time! The boys loved running around and they were big enough to pet the animals and play on the playground equipment. These are the times I treasure most. I love seeing their little bodies explore and enjoy new things. It's so much fun seeing!

Now for the not so fun part of the nearly terrible two's. Hmm where to begin? Well let's start with the naked butt nights. The boys have this new stunt where they take off their pants and diapers at night and you know what that means! WET WET WET little boys come morning and WET WET WET beds! Oh and it started off with just the nights but now they also do it while playing in the playroom. I took a shower on Saturday while they were in the playroom and came back to find Jason pointing to the floor yelling ew to a big pile of poop, which was his own! Aside from naked-butt's and poopy spaces my other downfall with the nearly two stage are the temper tantrums and melt downs over SILLY stuff. I try to ignore some of it that is just for attention and I have started time out. Reece doesn;t have a clue what it means...not because he hasn't been there but because he just doesn;t get it yet. Jason however, has been there and understands "Do you need to go to time out?" I sit with him in the corner for just a minute or two and talk to him while he faces the wall with his hands in his lap. The teacher really comes out!

Since it's been a while let me update you on some of their little about me's. Let's start with big man J. He loves his cars, motorcycles and pretty much anything with wheels! We have a nice collection of cars going! He understands pretty much everything you say to him and is starting to talk more and more. Tonight he had a flashlight and turned it on (or tired to). When it didn't turn on he looked up and said "it bok" and translated that's "it's broke" in Jason language. He eats pretty much anything! As for Reece...well, he still enjoys his books and splashing like a wild animal in the bath tub! He has a bigger vocabulary than Jason, but still pretty limited. He likes stuffed animals and eats like a bottom-less pit (but very slowly).

Here's a few pictures of when we were at the zoo last week and Old McDonalds Farm...oh and hopefully by Sunday the new swing set will be up in the backyard! I bought one at Sams. Actually I shouldn't say I...my family wants to pitch in on it for the boys birthday and then I am paying the remaining balance. Great idea and the boys are going to LOVE it!
