6 months and we are all still alive...

My boys are officially half a year old. This time 6 months ago I had 1 day old babies sitting in the NICU and I was bound and determined to walk to I could get down to see them every second of the day! Now 6 months later I enjoy every second of the day that I get some peace and silence! Oh boy, how things change! I guess to celebrate my survival of the first 6 months my sister and I decided to go shopping yesterday. The boys were really pretty good except when Reece got hungry but then afterwards he went right back to sleep. It’s so crazy to think they are getting so big and we are nearly into 2010. Jason is just about to the point where he can sit up by himself and wants to crawl really badly. Reece hasn't hit any new milestones. He is talking more, discovering his hands and feet, and starting to explore with his hands more than he use to. As for eating we are still at the same point. Jason is still working on cereal or should I say I am still working on it. It is so hard and frustrating to get him to eat off of a spoon. If he is really hungry and ready to eat he gets frustrated and screams bloody murder and if he isn't hungry enough than he spits it out of blows it out all over the place. This morning I was so annoyed because he would push my hand away and spit it all over the place and then start laughing. I don't mind feeding cereal to him but with two I don't exactly have all the free time in the world to attempt to get him to eat when I know the bottle is a quick fix. I guess we will get there soon enough when he is ready! If I didn't know any better I would say he is ready. He opens his mouth for the spoon but then doesn't swallow. It’s really annoying! Oh well...and as for Reece WOW what progress I have seen with him and his feeding issues. His spitting up isn't near as severe as it once was. In fact I don't see it out the nose very often if at all on a normal day. He spits up still but it’s out of the mouth and rarely projectile which is always good! I have my fingers crossed that with more time all of his little issues will clear up. He is such a sweetheart and such a good baby. I laugh and tell Jason all the time that he is needy and requires attention 24/7. Sometimes I just want to put him in the corner and tell him you are being a brat. I swear he is starting to figure out how to push my buttons. My sister says so too!

On a different note tonight is NYE and Ryan and I are going out to dinner and then seeing a movie. My Mom and Sister are keeping the kids and I am super excited to have a night alone without crying babies especially after being up with Jason till 12:30 last night, again at 3, 5 and 8. Sometimes he sleeps so good and other times he is a living nightmare, but I still love him! Ok well I must start getting ready and get the boys settled for their night out too!

I have some videos to upload too from our new camcorder. It takes a while to load so hopefully this weekend I will get them up if not sooner. Mostly of Jasons new tricks he is attempting and one cute one of Reece just a talking!

Christmas Day

After we did our thing Christmas morning I put together pastas and salad for our Christmas lunch. Ryans mom, grandmother, brother and sister spent the afternoon with us and the little guys opening gifts and eating lunch. The boys got more clothes and toys to add to their collection and needless to say they were very spoiled this year! (and Ryan and I too!)

Christmas Morning

The boys were up early Christmas morning...or should I say they were up pretty much all night long. I can only imagine what the years to come will be like considering they don't understand Santa yet. We took it easy on their first Christmas. They got new bibs because they are always eeded and a few toys and Santa brought them their big boy carseats. Jason will be ready for it in about 3 more pounds...Reece is going to get more use out of the carrier for a while.
