Growing
Well today we had a weigh in nurse visit and Reece had gained 15 ounces in 1 week and is now 7 pounds 6 ounces. The little munchkin might be 10 pounds at 3 months if we are lucky. Grow baby grow!

Our Latest Adventures
Always something…Ryan and I spent last night at the ER. I am anemic (STILL) and my girl time has been very different. Without getting into details I appear to be “healthy” but I had no idea babies could have this kind of effect on my body! We didn’t get in till about 1:30am and believe it or not the wait went y pretty fast. Mainly because the people in the ER were crazy. At one point I thought Ryan, Mrs. Gina and I were going to die laughing and the crazy man who was telling everyone about how vampires were going to be legalized and the world wouldn’t be here in 30 years so we might as well start killing and eating each other. Rather interesting…anyways things seem to be ok. I am still having some issues but was told not to worry and just to take it easy which is something you can’t do with two babies!
Speaking of babies…my little bundles of love are doing rather well. Jason is holding his head up and just loves to look around and take it all on. With Reecy it’s a different story. I laugh because its like I havea nearly 3 month old and a newborn still. Reece is starting to focus more when you talk to him and is just now trying to pick up his head which is something Jason started about 3 ½ weeks ago. It’s so weird because their gestational age according to how they were measuring was about a 4 week difference and now its as though their developmental milestones are spaced out about a month apart. So weird?
Over the weekend we moved the boys stuff from my parents house to mine & Ryan’s. We painted the bedroom the boys are staying in and also changed out the fan and fixtures in the room. It made a huge difference. We would love to replace carpet but don’t want to put that kind of money into the house yet even though it is tempting considering the color and age of the carpet. Haha one step at a time I guess…for now the boys room is the one place in the house that I wanted to make their own. Organization helps so much and before they didn’t have a room…instead they had a house with stuff in every room!
We have tried for the last 2 weeks to get the boys pictures taken. The first weekend Reece had a cold and the second weekend just didn’t work out. Luckily this Sunday we are going to give it another shot! My sister spent an arm & a leg on Halloween costumes for the boys and I cannot wait to dress them up and have pictures made. I am not even going to tell you what they are yet because when you seem them it will be just that much cuter! We are also taking some other pictures…all of which I am very excited about.
The weekend plans include lots of grandparents! On Friday we are going to Grandma Judi & PawPaw Toms (Ryan’s Dads side of the family) to spend time with them and the boys will also meet their great great grandmother and Grandma Judi’s aunt sister for the first time. I believe Ryans Dad will be there too so they will have lots of arms to hold them. On Saturday Granny Jean (Ryans grandmother on his moms side) is coming out to our house. She hasn’t seen the boys since the weekend they were born and can hardly stand it anymore! Then on Sunday after pictures I am sure we will take it easy and spend some time with my parents. It cracks me up because since we moved all of the baby stuff over to the other house my mom has made her own baby haven equipped wither own burp rags, pack n play, bibs, nunu’s, blankets, nose sucker and more! I give it a few months and she will have a crib here too for the little guys. The boys are so lucky to be blessed with such loving families.
I have been promising new pictures so here you go…

Engaged, more sleep, lots of visitors!

So I am getting really bad about updating now that I don’t have internet at my house. So instead of giving you a big lengthy novel I’ll just hit a few our most recent high points!
First of all Ryan proposed last week. It was totally unexpected and I knew eventually it would happen but certainly not last week! Anyways of course I said yes. How did he do it is always the famous question. Well, it’s a funny story. He isn’t a good liar so when he came upstairs to tell me he had to go someplace to help jump somebody’s car who had the jumper cables I thought to myself yah right why do you have to go if they have cables? So anyways he said I just really have to go get something. So while he was gone I finished my bath and when he came home I had on his shorts and t-shirt my hair up in a red and white stripped towel with one screaming baby in my arms and the other upstairs on the monitor. He had a gift in his hands when he came in the door and a big grin and at that point I was so annoyed by the crying I wasn’t thinking much of anything. Anyways while the kids were still screaming he insisted on me opening it so I did and it was an empty bottle he had made with a note on the inside saying how much he loves me and at the end it said will you marry me? Of course I laughed at first and he got down on one knee and proposed with the ring and I said yes. Awww so sweet…in the meantime the kids where still screaming. Very typical lol Here is a picture of the ring.
In other news Ryan and I both had visitors this week. The start of the week kicked off with Ryans best friend, Ryan and then on Tuesday one of my good friends from college came to stay and left today. I was spoiled by here! Every night Jason slept in her bedroom and she would feed J while I took care of Reece. It was so so so nice to only have to deal with one baby for the night. The boys are getting better about sleeping. Jason is sleeping in his crib (on his tummy) and has been going right back to sleep after feedings. The biggest challege is getting himdown for the first time. Reece has been sleeping mostly with me and in his car seat. Hes growing, but I still fear he will choke on the spit up from his reflus. Its stillnot getting any better! He is starting to get over his cold but is still stuffy but again I think it has to do with the reflux.
Jason had a nice little outing with us this past weekend. We went over to the Torres's for Ryans (Ryans friend) birthday and then visited with Ryans Dads family. I still haven't gotten a picture up with Ry's Dad and the boys and the pictures of Ryans friend Ryan and the boys are still on my camera back at the house. I'll have to add those later.
Reece will go back to the doctor the end of next week for a growth check up. They don't have well checkups till 4months but the doctor wants to watch Reece because he has fallen off his growth curve. Maybe he just hasn't hit his growth spurt yet, who knows. Well for today I am finishing laundry and then Ryan and I are going to paint at the house and prepare the boys nursery. My sister is in town for the weekend and J & R can't wait to be spoiled by Aunt Ashy. Hopefully pictures will take place tomorrow for the boys...not sure yet but I have my fingers crossed. My sister bought them halloween costumes but I dont yet know what they are. Oh I can't wait to see them!

2 Month Check- Up
Oh my how my little munchkins are growing up so quickly. Today we had our two month check up. The boys turned two months on Sunday…the doctors visit was actually rather enjoyable. I ran into another twin Mommy there today and that alone just made my day. Kim also has two miracle babies, but I must say hers are even bigger miracles than my little Jason and Reece, but none the less all of them are such sweet blessings. Blake and Owen were actually born before my little guys and were smaller. Needless to day they are big and strong now and the small one of the two is already walking. The entire time I was pregnant after being put in touch with Kim, they became my hope and encouragement that the pregnancy and my boys would all go well.
Jason weighs a whopping 10 pounds 10 ounces and is 22 inches long. Reece is slowly catching up and is 6 pounds 8 ounces and was 18 inches long. I had a long list of questions and concerns to discuss, most of which were minor.
*Constipation- both boys will go 2-4 days like its nothing but grunts and gas with no poopy diaper. I end up using lots of Karo & apply juice to fix the trick. As long as they don’t go 5 days and there’s not blood in the stool she said we should be ok. I was worried about this mainly because Ryans brother, Jason, who passed away had ____________which has to do with the intestines and passing stools. Needless to say this is just something we should monitor since the symptoms aren’t usually very obvious. (Nothing to worry about for now).
*Formula: Jason was changed back to Similac Advance so that he gets less calories and we are also suppose to try and slowly reduce the amount of rice cereal he gets. As for Reece he will stay on the Similac Neosure and we will be changing to oatmeal instead of rice cereal. In three weeks we are going back to check his weight because right now he is starting to fall or the growth curve. Dr. Smoot said it could be that his growth spurt just hasn’t kicked in yet and if in 3 weeks he is still a little behind then we will add calorie packs to his feedings.
*Jason’s Big Toes: Funny, I know! His big toes are growing into the skin. They are usually bright red so I have been putting cream on them. The doctor said its common for the nail to grow at a triangular point and that I should run my fingers under the nails to keep them from sticking to the skin and growing inward.
*Jason’s Penis: Poor kid…the skin had started sticking to the head of the penis and wasn’t below the rim. Dr. Smoot had to pull it back and it started bleeding which we expected to happen. I had noticed when bathing him that it looked funny and when I pulled back on it he screamed so I didn’t mess with it except to wash because I am not to familiar with those little gadgets. (Little girls seem so much easier…boys are all new to me!)
*RSV: We have been told over and over by the neo nurses and doctors and both pediatricians that they need the RSV vaccination. RSV is a really bad respiratory virus that can be deadly and is especially harmful to preemies born before 35 weeks. I’ll soon (next day or so) be posting all about RSV and the precautions we must take. In the past the shot was given pretty freely. Now the guidelines have become stricter and go figure, the boys can’t get the vaccine! Not a good deal! Again, like I said, much more to come about RSV.
*Flu: This is something the pedi brought up and not me. She said flu season has already started and its spreading really quickly. It very important that J & R not get sick. Their immune systems aren’t very strong and because of their size. She said that Ryan and I both need to get shots this weekend and all of those who come in contact with the boys need a flu shot. So get your shots people! If you suspect your getting sick please give I a few days before coming around just for their safety.
Other than that, that’s about all that went on with the exception of their two month immunizations. I held both of their little hands and when the needle got them they had a death grip onto my thumb. It was kind of cute, but also very sad because they screamed so loudly. The worst part was they each had 3 shots and one oral vaccine. After the fact they were both just fine. They slept most of the day and then this afternoon had a good little fuss that sounded like a painful cry. They both got over it with a little TLC, sleep and Tylenol. Thank goodness for my Mom taking off today though! I could not get out in public without help yet all because of their stupid reflux. I can’t count the number of times I had to have lean into the backseat and suck little Reece’s nose while I was driving! I guess it goes without saying, but the boys have defiantly brought me even closer to my Mom which is hard to imagine because we were already so close to begin with! Okay well I must get going. I am actually at my parents’ house now with the boys. Ryan was sick this afternoon. Pretty sure its just allergies, but he wanted to go to bed early so I asked him if he would mind me brining the boys here and he get a solid nights sleep. Just one of the many benefits of living close to the parents still!
